Despite the warm colors, the cafe was cold. Bracing for a Summer’s day, the owner had the AC turned down early in the morning. Good for me as I hate Summer.

Bad for the coffee.

safe-place

This is my safe place for mind and art. In this place, nothing invades unless I allow.

Understand?

Senses working overtime…

Composition

… is one of my favorite songs from the 80s. XTC really had something, and loved the odd juxtapositions of lyrics and verse. Sense Working Overtime really captured my eclectic mood today. Plus, I got down, dirty and sketched with abandon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07Fp-omNXCw).

Cafe Chairs

Tables and chairs belonging to my favorite café, are ready for the day. They are lined up and ready for neighbors, visitors and acrobats.

Couldn’t resist painting with coffee while waiting for Kathy yesterday. Figuring what could go wrong, I started dipping my brush in my cup and well… coffeehands.

This may not be my best drawing, but it certainly was fun. Plus, I got to keep drinking my paint.

Cafe Espresso, Captain Picard, Pencil and Pen Drawing, Quick Sketch

Imagine little time to sketch, but long on desire. That’s what I had to work with.

Love it!

I sketched fast, smart and with dispatch as Captain Picard would have said.
