Before I walk my dog, a sketch for the road.
Ah, what else to do on a Sunday afternoon. Sketch, reflect on the last week, my surgeon and my neck.
All seem to be on the mend.
I wasn’t able to continue a long string of daily sketches because of a freelance job. Yesterday’s project took the entire day, which depleted my energy to illustrate. Sometimes, working for someone else will do that.
Hash smash. Criss-cross, bang bang! I’m all about some rhythm.
Saturday night I guess is “selfie night” and now, a tradition. I like doing them because illustrations of one’s self are enemy number 1. I hate the line of the nose or curl of the ear. Nothing is perfect my mind’s eye.
Might as well be a “Saturday Night Massacre”. Bang.
This illustration is something new for me. I have not used a pen, only pencil and paint. Very liberating and fluid.
Somewhere along the way, I became inspired to follow through with less line and more color.
Fun and expressive.
Wow, I’m tearing it up tonight and ripping the results. I decided to steer clear of any ink and shape the image with Prismacolor and paint.
Sensual moment to myself.
Originality and a borrowed lyric, brought me around. “I get excitement at your feet”.
I am the walrus
Goo goo g’ joob goo goo g’ joob
Pencil wash sans ink. Yup, no fine lines, only pencil and a bit of Prismacolor, plus Dr. Ph. Martin watercolors.
