Speaks for itself.
This is my first illustration 5 days after surgery. It felt good to feel the texture of the paper and hear the scratch of a pen.
Being a first, I am thrilled to have a working hand with no pain and full control. However, it’s been 2 months since I last touched pen to paper.
I need to retrain myself.
… is one of my favorite songs from the 80s. XTC really had something, and loved the odd juxtapositions of lyrics and verse. Sense Working Overtime really captured my eclectic mood today. Plus, I got down, dirty and sketched with abandon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07Fp-omNXCw).
One has to get a little worked up (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Worked%20Up%20) once in a while. When nothing has been produced for weeks, the feelings, anxiety and regret build upon each other.
Thinking about it doesn’t count. Doing does.
I try to not allow things to get in the way. They are just another “term for excuse” and as an artist, cannot afford them.
They are too rich for me.
The Louisville Free Public Library hosted a Harry Potter party last night. Neither my friend Kathy nor myself knew about it, but were thrilled with the discovery. Even though I didn’t attend, there was plenty of time to see the exhibits and sketch the main entrance of the library. The curves, candles and discovery almost got the best of me.
It is very cool to have such a fine piece of architecture this accessible.
