There are the drapes and the clutter, who hide behind the boxes and move like film among the wires; to the beat of Saturday while alone.

Even though imaginative color is applied by you, the beat of a hand touching paper goes on.
The artist never stops to admire a “perfect sketch”, because none exists.
Restless minds cave to desire.

Alley Flowers, artist, Barry Comer, Barry Comer Artist, Day Lilly, Michael EhrhardtAfter looking at some of Michael Ehrhardt’s work this week, I became inspired. He is an accomplished and prolific German artist, who works in acrylics.
He is masterful.
My artwork defines itself lately by scribing my thoughts in pen, and wanted to give something new a try. I wanted to share the punctuation of line, with an inappropriate/inconsistent/landscape-like background.
I like and may integrate more into my work. Thank you for the inspiration.
Moto mojo
1950a, 1960s, Barry Comer, Barry Comer Artist, Coffee Shot, Harley Davidson Patriot, Motorcycle Knockoff, Urban RiderHey, why not ride a motorcycle that looks like it was designed in the 40s. More so, put a ridiculous stereo on it, an American flag to show you are “a real American” and then strip.
Strip all common sense for your safety and the safety of your partner. After all, you ride a Japanese knockoff of some other famous brand. You know the one, the motorcycle that will soon use Europe as a more reasonable method of manufacturing. But you are one with the air and the road.
Fly on little wing, ride on.
First time
Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion, Barry Comer, Barry Comer Artist, Dr. Ph. Martin's Radiant Concentrated Watercolor, Expressionism, Herniated Disc, HydrocodoneThis is my first illustration 5 days after surgery. It felt good to feel the texture of the paper and hear the scratch of a pen.
Being a first, I am thrilled to have a working hand with no pain and full control. However, it’s been 2 months since I last touched pen to paper.
I need to retrain myself.
Thank you
American Illustrator, Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion, Art, artist, Badass Artist, Barry Comer, Barry Comer Artist, gratitude, surgeryThank you for every message, kind words and encouragement. The surgery went well and am now home recovering. (https://www.spine-health.com/treatment/spinal-fusion/acdf-anterior-cervical-discectomy-and-fusion)
While in my hospital room, the first thing I did was grab a sheet of paper and a pen. Even though the sketch was not up to my standards, the pain-free experience was. My right index finger still has a little numbness on the very tip, but everywhere else is back to normal.
Not having created any art for over a month has been difficult for a variety of reasons. Because illustration is one of my means of speaking, I felt mute the entire time.
Let’s see what is in store tomorrow. I want to challenge myself, but I want to be realistic.
Thank you again for your well wishes and warm comments.

Tall order!
As for me, I have my game face ready, at least how I think they see me. I’m actually a very nice guy with a few tendencies toward sweetness. Maybe if they listened to a little Allman Brothers with me…
