Fresh from the vine

Broken leaves and tarnished blossoms. The storms took their toll all afternoon.

My favorite backyard plant always suffers. The leaves are large and the blossoms fragile.

Backyard sketch…

… before the mosquitos ate me alive, I took chair and sketchbook for some Saturday fun. With book in lap and dog at my side, I contoured, impressed and painted lines. Even though I am technically not painting lines, I feel that I am with strokes and different pressures. In this way, my eyes see the depths of the subject and tactile patterns.

The sketch was non-stop flurry, which makes me feel energized for the day.

Whispered kisses and memories

Misty river flows along an ankle and feels of falling,

of blue jays swirling and whispered kisses and memories,

hushed quiet.

Flight my feathers of floating trails, among the leaves who fall.

Give me wind and vivid dreams tonight.

Infuse my memories.
