  1. Geez, you make me work. Of course I could just read your categories and tags . . . But then I wouldn’t know that kiku is Japanese for chrysanthemum—and a girl’s name, out of favor since the defeat of imperial Japan in WWII. (The chrysanthemum was the symbol of the Japanese emperor.) Also urban slang for “blush.” I love the colors in the wash of your drawing.

  2. OK, I can pat myself on the back because I quickly looked to the keywords for a clue about Kiku. There are so, so many apple varieties…you’ve done this one justice, and more. And you sent Linda off on a wild goose chase of sorts, which I think she liked…:-)…the colors are beautiful here.
