I like a big brush

I am exhausted this first week of school, and knew it would be difficult. How difficult… very. In fact, I have not had the energy or inspiration to settle in to a drawing, much less paint it.

Tonight I didn’t compromise, but I relied on an old standby; me. What better way to express this fatigue than with color, lines and mood.

I like persevering and holding a big brush.

  1. Yikes! 895 Likes! This post went viral, hunh? No wonder: it’s brilliant! Your work really does speak/sing/communicate. Every bit of that painting is expressive. You know what? Each time I see one of your pieces I want to paint. Or draw. Or sing. Or all three. What’s that about? Anyway…thank you for sharing this with us.

      • Ahhh! Being “Freshly Pressed” will do that. A couple of years ago on my old blog-blog (writing, not art) I had a post “Freshly Pressed” and within a day went from 6 Followers to nearly 300. But it backfired bec I’m waaay too shy to deal with all those people trailing around behind me. I shuttered the thing and set up a different writing blog, one about typos, of all things…LOL
2000 views in 2 days! And all the comments you received! That’s a lot to deal with. I’m trying not to imagine the emails!!!! ::shivers::
Well, it’s a wonderful post, truly something that people should see. I’m glad that so many did, including me.

Hi! It’s very likely that you haven’t noticed but I closed my Twitter and WP art portfolio/blog accounts yesterday. As much fun as they were in the beginning, they overwhelmed me. I couldn’t get anything else done (esp art!). So I went back “home” to my little personal blog-site. I enjoy your art so much and find your words inspiring, so I’m going to Follow you. If you ever want to stop in to visit I’d be thrilled to see you. 🙂
